  2. Create a light seal using the tip of your finger on the end of the straw and then the tip of your tongue on the inside end. When you blow, no air should escape.

  3. Keeping in mind the general shape of the straw, pick up your headjoint and bring it to your lips. You lower lip should cover 1/4-1/3 of the opening. Blow gently across.

  4. If your sound is not emerging, experiment with rolling the headjoint a millimeter toward you and away from you.

  5. Experiment with a light articulation, touching the tip of the tongue to the inside of the lips (mainly upper lip), preparing the air, and releasing the tongue beneath the lower lip to start the sound.
